Due to unlucky weather, we did not have the chance to go this season. However, Captain Mike was a great communicator and very customer oriented. If the inspiration to go on a freshwater charter arises in a future season, I'll be looking up Captain Mike first.

Decided to use Lie a Lot Charters on a weekend trip with my daughter. Had a spectacular day for it, and despite getting a late start, had a wonderful time and came home with a nice haul of fish! Captain Mike really knew just where to go to make the most of the day and was professional and personable. We enjoyed it tremendously and were able to create some great memories of our day on the water.

Wow!!! The best captain on the job, knows where, when, and how to catch them. Out on two trips and great catches on both. If you're looking for and expert, experienced fishing captain Mike is the one (probably the only one). Will return for more fishing trips with captain Mike and this company.

Absolutely the best charter ever. Mike worked non-stop to find the fish and did he ever ! He hit the limit with big Lake Trout when none of the other charter boats caught fish. You won’t find a better charter than Lie-A-Lot or a better Captain than Mike. I’d give him 10 stars if I could

name says it all. Nothing but a lie. Booked trip with him in January for an August two day trip. text him in March to confirm dates and said everything was good and see you in August. tried calling and texting him 2 weeks before trip and got no response. tried again the following week and no response. three days before the date he text me saying he rented his boat out to another charter captain and all he said was sorry about that. Me and my family were very upset and we already booked a house to stay in Ludington that week and they were looking forward to salmon fishing while on vacation. If you don't want your vacation ruined, don't call this charter. Terrible communication and very unprofessional business. I can't believe there are people like this in this business. I've been on hunting and fishing trips from Alaska to Boston and never had to deal with anyone as unprofessional as this clown

TERRIBLE COMMUNICATION and LEFT US AT THE DOCK

Throughout our booking process (listen to his voicemail and he is already making excuses for not calling anyone back) communication was awful. After booking our trip months in advance, I texted him a week before to confirm and amazingly he responded. Our group then drives 3+ hours and spends hundreds of dollars on hotels just to find another group on the boat. Again, the captain would not answer the phone as there was a deckhand on the boat for the day. A trip later that day or the next day would not work because we already checked out of the hotel and everything in the area was booked. FINALLY, the captain sends me a long and confusing text mixing me up with someone else throwing blame at pretty much everyone he works with but himself. He then offered a free trip next year to help make up for it and when trying to confirm that in writing, he’s ignored me for 2+ days.

If you book a trip with this guy, you better be a gambler because odds are you won’t hear from him much and MAYBE you will actually go fishing. With so many other charter boats in the area, why take that chance?

UNPROFESSIONAL and DOES NOT VALUE CLIENTS

My husband booked a salmon charter months in advance and set this trip up for a couple others in our family as well. What a disappointment to get to the dock and find out we wasted our money, and more importantly TIME with this charter as the captain booked another group on our day. We were leery of the lack of communication, ignored texts, unanswered calls, before our trip and turns out we were right.

You don’t want this to happen to you and this captain has a track record of this (see other reviews).
